We have just got back from the Fintelligence Broker Awards in Brisbane, and it was a cracking night.
Dean Hutton Finance was named a finalist in the FY26 Broker Awards, something we were genuinely honoured by. We did not walk away with the trophy on the night, and the brokers who did thoroughly deserved it. Being in that room, on that list, alongside the calibre of people Fintelligence works with, is a result we are very happy with.
Why an awards night actually matters
It would be easy to write these evenings off as an excuse to get dressed up, but there is real value in them.
Broking can be a heads-down business. Most weeks are spent on applications, lender policy, and getting deals across the line for clients, not talking to other brokers about how they are solving the same problems. A night like this is one of the few times the industry is all in one place.
We came away having reconnected with people we have known for years and having met plenty of brokers we had only ever dealt with by email. Those conversations, about what lenders are doing, where policy is tightening, what is working for other people’s clients — are the sort of thing that quietly makes us better at the job.
Thank you to Fintelligence for putting on such a well-run event, and for the ongoing support behind the scenes that does not get an awards night of its own.
What it means for our clients
Recognition is nice. What sits behind it is more useful: a finalist nomination reflects the work done across the year for the clients who trusted us with their finance, the ones who referred a mate, came back for the next purchase, or stuck with us through a deal that took some untangling.
That is the part we are actually proud of, and it does not change on the strength of one envelope being opened.
